REPLATFORMING THE ECOMMERCE EXPERIENCE FOR A LEADER IN HUMAN-GRADE PET FOOD PRODUCTS.
The Opportunity
Implementing a more dynamic way to deliver the best ecommerce experience







Fully “lifting and shifting” their previous ecommerce experience onto Shopify was not the best option and The Honest Kitchen was able to adopt as many out-of-the-box Shopify features as possible to minimize ongoing maintenance and reduce the total cost of ownership. Leveraging third-party Shopify Apps where possible was essential to meet The Honest Kitchen’s critical business needs. The build included 31 Shopify Apps, as well as 6 custom business critical, customer experience React applications built and deployed natively in the cloud.
The team approached the project with an open and creative mindset to overcome an array of challenges. We adapted the platform to handle unique discount pricing groups, as well as worked to integrate a new, recurring order module fresh off the production line from OrderGroove in support of the newer Shopify Dawn theme. One of the larger undertakings of this project was migrating 8 years of historical customer and order data. This included mapping, migrating, reconciling, scrubbing, and validating the data from the legacy platform’s architecture to ensure a seamless transition for The Honest Kitchen’s customer base.
